Event Description:
On October 17, 2018, the Center for Literary Arts of San José is excited to host Gary Kamiya at the Hammer Theatre Center's "Hammer 4" Black Box Theatre.

Gary Kamiya is the author of Cool Gray City of Love, the former editor of San Francisco Magazine, and columnist for Salon. Cool Gray City of Love has been described as a deeply researched and lyrical prose love letter to San Francisco and has been heralded by the New York Times as a “symphony of San Francisco, a grand pleasure, and a vital challenge to not rest content with the knowledge anyone else provides of a city you love.”

During the event Kamiya will give a reading and presentation about his life and work, after which he will converse on-stage with Michael Johns, professor emeritus at UC Berkeley and author of San Francisco: Instant City, Promised Land. There will be an audience Q&A and book-signing/reception to follow.
