Tanya Zimbardo: Artist Walks in the Bay Area

Event Description:
Tanya Zimbardo will give an overview of contemporary artworks and exhibition projects that have centered on the act of walking since the 1970s. This San Francisco-based curator and writer will discuss a range of spatial practices and curatorial approaches to the urban environment of the Bay Area. The presentation will include examples of participatory works and events commissioned by the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art. Her recent projects include Jim Campbell: Tilted Plane and New Work: Kerry Tribe and co-curated Nothing Stable under Heaven, Soundtracks, and Nam June Paik: In Character.
This acclaimed weekly lecture series brings in artists, designers, and critical theorists from around the world. All lecture presentations take place 5-6pm in the SJSU Art Lecture Hall (Room 133), unless otherwise indicated. Free and open to the public!
