The Borgen Project Informational Event |
|
Event Description: Come join us if you are interested in becoming a volunteer or want to learn more about how to make a difference!
Formed in 2003 in Seattle Washington, The Borgen Project is a nonprofit, advocacy organization that operates at the political level advancing policies and programs that improve living conditions for those living on less than $1 per day. With the help of our 839 volunteers nationwide, we are the innovative, national campaign that is working to make poverty a focus of U.S. foreign policy.
How do we operate? The Borgen Project has access to and meets with over 90% of the U.S. Senate every year. We advocate by meet with U.S. Congressional leaders to secure support for crucial poverty-reducing legislation. We also mobilize people across the globe behind efforts to make poverty a political priority. Additionally, we teach basic advocacy skills that allow citizens to communicate with their government and build awareness of global issues and innovations in poverty-reduction through our online and community presence. |
