Positioning Mental Health as a Social Justice Issue
Start Date: 11/29/2012Start Time: 5:00 PM
End Date: 11/29/2012End Time: 7:00 PM

Event Description
In general, mental health is looked at as a personal issue. Society gives the message that you're on your own, and there is something wrong with you if you look or act a certain way. In this participatory workshop, we will seek to understand the psychology of oppressed and impoverished communities through a socio-cultural perspective. The workshop will have an open dialogue and begin to challenge how we understand mental well-being.
