Developing an Awareness About Intercultural Interaction: Introduction and Self-Assessment

Event Description

Participants will gain an understanding of the differences and the importance of verbal and nonverbal cues as well as learn tools for ensuring effective communication with our diverse campus community. Opportunities exist within each module for the participants to practice the principles of mindful and culturally responsive communication skills in hands-on exercises and simulations.

 These modules will highlight:

  • self-assessment
  • verbal and non-verbal communication
  • ensuring clear communication
  • practicing interactional skills and competences
