Event Description

The project entitled "Taking Pictures and Telling our Stories: Community Participation of People with Mental Illness" explores issues faced by those with mental health problems in our community through photography, a method called photovoice. The purpose of the project is to enable people with mental illness a method of voicing strengths and concerns about the community, to encourage a dialogue about important community problems, and to encourage policymakers and leaders to take action.

Researcher and Assistant Professor, Lynne Andonian, of the San José State University Department of Occupational Therapy, will be available for questions and discussion at the opening reception on Tuesday, November 3, 2009 at 5 pm.
