Educated Person Conversation series: Today’s topic: Feeding many birds with one piece of bread
Start Date: 12/4/2014Start Time: 12:00 PM
End Date: 12/4/2014End Time: 1:00 PM

Event Description:
Today’s topic:  Feeding many birds with one piece of bread - Restoring Coyote Creek - a campus-wide, cross-disciplinary community engagement project. As teachers, we strive to help our students find many kinds of meaning in what they study in their classes and to help them mature as life-long and engaged learners.  It’s not every day that we come upon opportunities for true win-win collaborations.  But here is one such occasion! In the tradition of the award-winning CommUniverCIty project, and following upon Sociology's helping raise the minimum wage, SJSU is embarking upon a long-term service-learning & community-engagement collaboration to help restore Coyote Creek.  Are you looking for engaging hands-on experiences for your students for your Spring Semester class(es), to help them enrich their learning? Are you interested in opportunities to develop cross-disciplinary themes in your teaching.  If so, come learn about  the Restoring Coyote Creek Collaboration. This program lends itself quite readily to exploring a wide variety of ecological and social issues.  Question?  Please contact Michale Fallon (michael.fallon@sjsu.edu)
