Ala Ebtekar: Nightfall (If the Stars Should Appear One Night in a Thousand Years)

Event Description:
Ala Ebtekar's presentation will offer a survey of his multifaceted practice over the past fifteen years which has involved light, installation, painting, drawing, text, photography, public projects, and pedagogical initiatives such as Art, Social Space, and Public Discourse. Ebtekar will also delve into recent works in response to writers Isaac Asimov, Ralph Waldo Emerson, and Hafez. He will also examine what it means to make art in an age of uncertainty amidst war, conflict, and social injustices.

TUESDAY NIGHT LECTURE SERIES | An acclaimed weekly lecture series brings in artists, designers, and critical theorists from around the world, broadening the students’ experiential base and complementing local offerings. All lectures and exhibitions are open to the general public free of charge. Unless otherwise indicated, all presentations will be held in the Art Building, Room #133, from 5-6pm.
