Spanish Revival style architecture in California (King Library)
Start Date: 6/24/2017Start Time: 12:00 PM
End Date: 6/24/2017End Time: 4:00 PM

Event Description:
It’s the 100th year anniversary of the San Jose architectural firm of Wolfe & Higgins. Krista Van Laan has just published a new book on the firm. San Jose architect Frank Delos Wolfe partnered with William Ernest Higgins of Santa Clara in 1917. As he did with the Prairie style architecture, Wolfe launched something new – he and Higgins brought the newly popular Spanish Revival style to San Jose. The firm was amazingly prolific – in just fourteen years, they produced over 500 works, including some of the best-known buildings in our area.

Author Krista Van Laan will give a talk and take questions about local architecture. Information will also be provided about a city-wide architectural home tour.
