Eric Rodenbeck: Data Visualization as a Creative Practice
Start Date: 9/11/2018Start Time: 5:00 PM
End Date: 9/11/2018End Time: 6:00 PM

Event Description:
Eric Rodenbeck founded design firm Stamen in 200 where he is the Creative Director and CEO. The work in the field has inspired countless more. In this talk he will disentangle the design work telling stories with data from computer science. From Rodenbeck's perspective, computer science, on its own, has about as much to say about the medium of data visualization (dataviz) as photographic paper engineering has to say about lnstagram. Computer science is the technical underpinnings of dataviz, sometimes. Dataviz is the medium.
