Event Description:

Rubrics are communication tools as well as performance scoring tools in a course. When the rubrics are designed and implemented effectively, students will be able to understand the criteria for the learning outcomes and the instructor's expectations for the various degrees of mastery in the outcomes.  In this workshop participants will learn to differentiate the different types and purposes of rubrics; recognize and manipulate the components in these rubrics; select appropriate existing rubrics from rubric resources for future customization; and discuss effective uses of rubrics. We will also explore using technology as tools to develop rubric.

If your department would like to have your own workshop on this topic, please contact the facilitator. Her email address is and phone number (408) 924-2456.
