Event Description:

Facilitated by W. Mei Fang, Senior Instructional Designer, Center for Faculty Development

In this workshop we will learn from good practices of “Flipping Classroom”, a teaching strategy concept that recently has caught the interest of many faculty members. We will discuss the conditions, outcomes, implementation, and challenges when you plan to flip your classroom in a course.  We will review principles of learning effectiveness that would guide you to decide when to flip and how to flip when you plan your syllabus. We will also adopt student engagement techniques to maximize the learning effectiveness in the classroom.

Bring a copy of your course schedule or course syllabus for the hands-on exercise in the workshop.

If your department would like to have your own workshop on this topic, please contact the facilitator. Her email address is and phone number (408) 924-2456.
