Event Description:

Facilitated by W. Mei Fang, Senior Instructional Designer and Instructor, Center for Faculty Development

Wondering how confident your students are feeling about their learning outcomes?

Eager to know if the online materials you have prepared are helpful to students? Or just simply to learn if students have any feedback to enhance learning in the course now rather than to wait for the SOTE’s results? Conduct regular formative assessments in your course is the answer. In this workshop we will examine the significance of designing and implementing formative assessments in mid semester to steer or facilitate student learning outcomes in the direction as you planned. We will discover different types of formative assessments, different online assessment tools, how to integrate them into your course framework, how to use the data to enhance learning, etc.

Prior user knowledge in Google Form and Canvas in the areas of Quizzes is highly desirable.

If your department would like to have your own workshop on this topic, please contact the facilitator. Her email address is and phone number (408) 924-2456.
