Event Description:
Robert Dawson, a former photography professor at SJSU and current professor at Stanford University, has spent over 23 years examining the role of libraries and literacy throughout our culture. During 18 of those years he photographed public libraries throughout the United States; this resulted in his 2014 book The Public Library: A Photographic Essay. His recent work looks at literacy efforts in Stockton and San Joaquin County, CA; the Folger Shakespeare Library in Washington, DC; and the changing roles of libraries throughout Europe.

Tuesday Night Lecture Series:
An acclaimed weekly lecture series brings in artists, designers, and critical theorists from around the world, broadening the students’ experiential base and complementing local offerings. All lectures and exhibitions are open to the general public free of charge. Unless otherwise indicated, all presentations will be held in the Art Building, Room #133, from 5-6pm.
