• Monday February 2nd - Thursday February 12th: Cultural Wish Tree @ CAPISE
  • 9:30am - 6pm: Drop in at the Center for Asian Pacific Islander Student Empowerment (CAPISE) to set your intentions for the new year with our Cultural Wish Tree and be entered into a giveaway for fun prizes!
• Wednesday February 11th: Lunar New Year Lunch @ SJSU Dining Commons
  • 12 - 3pm: Join us and grab some Lunar New Year themed lunch at the Dining Commons and potentially get a red envelope!
• Thursday, February 12th: Lunar New Year Celebrations!
  • 11:15am: SJSU Vietnamese Student Association Lion Dancing @ inside Student Union
  • 1 - 3pm: New Year, New Fire: Lunar New Year Crafting @ Student Union Ballrooms A&B - Come celebrate the Year of the Fire Horse through art, culture, and connection. Free food provided!

A collaboration event with the Center for Asian Pacific Islander Student Empowerment, Mosaic Cross Cultural Center, Spartan Eats, and the Diaz Compean Student Union.

We use Lunar New Year to be more inclusive and to recognize that this holiday is celebrated by many cultures across the Asian diaspora, not just one. This choice reflects shared traditions across East and Southeast Asia and helps create a welcoming space to celebrate with the community while also inviting those who don’t observe the holiday to learn about its cultural significance.
