This event will feature a special screening of Because of You, I Am, a short documentary film about PJ & Roy Hirabayashi, two influential Japanese American taiko drummers who have championed a new category of Asian American music and arts activism. Following the screening, PJ and Roy Hirabayashi, along with producer Pear Urushima, will participate in a panel discussion to share insights into their journey, their time as SJSU students, and the broader themes explored in the film.
