Free Event

Complementing two concerts featuring all of Bela Bartok's String Quartets, the School of Music presents a free SYMPOSIUM on the Music of Bela Bartok.  Saturday, December 2; 2:00-4:00PM, SJSU Music Concert Hall.  The symposium featured Bartok scholars Daphne Leoung (University of Colorado, Boulder) and Lynn Hooker (Purdue University), as well as Hungarian history and political expert Peter Kenez (Professor emeritus, UCSC) and Erica Buurman (Director of the Ira Brilliant Beethoven Center at SJSU); as well as the members of the Takacs Quartet.  The Symposium is free and open to the public.  The symposium is sponorsed in part by an Artistic Excellence Performing Grant.
