The San José State University (SJSU)’s King Library and SJSU’s Black Leadership and Opportunity Center (BLOC), in partnership with the African American Community Service Agency (SJAACSA) and artist/author/activist Chamia LaRae, invite you to celebrate Black Maternal Health Week 2026: Rooted in Justice & Joy

Join us for “Ways to Convey: A masterclass in bridging creativity and activism in support of Black Mamas.” Come learn about Black Maternal Health Week and experience an artistic masterclass that uncovers foundational communications and activism principles and bridges such with creative expression to educate and inspire support for Black Mamas. Attendees will also connect with local organizations and researchers in a roundtable discussion centering on Black Maternal Health, reproductive justice principles, and art activism.
