The School of Journalism and Mass Communications will host "Cartoonists Panel — Perspectives on the Impact and Intersection of Art, Journalism and Politics" in celebration of Ann Telnaes, SJSU's 2025 William Randolph Hearst Award recipient. Taking place the day before the official award ceremony, this panel discussion is open to all and will feature a dynamic conversation with three acclaimed industry professionals: editorial cartoonist and two-time Pulitzer Prize winner Ann Telnaes, illustrator, cartoonist and writer Ward Sutton of The Boston Globe and political cartoonist Mark Fiore of the San Francisco Chronicle. Together, they will explore how cartoons shape public dialogue, challenge power and illuminate the connections between art and journalism.
