An engaging and thought-provoking exhibit of Dr. Elias Serna's award-winning Chicano/a/x book collection. The collection includes rare texts from movement years of the 1960s and 1970s. It was amassed during Dr. Serna's entire career in higher education, reflecting his interest in Chicano Movement literature, creativity, polemics and how these inspired him to pursue higher education and attain a PhD in English with areas in rhetoric and Chicana/o literature. This exhibit seeks to celebrate the genius of Chicana/o/x literature and the ongoing struggle for self-definition and self-determination of Chicanx communities.
