About this Event
One Washington Square, San Jose, CA 95192
This talk will tour some foundational results in mathematical linguistics, which uses math to study linguistic structures. We will discuss deep but practical questions like: What can be a possible language? Under what conditions is a language learnable (or not) from data? What are the limitations of so-called “language models”?
