Empower your students to become better readers by practicing their annotation skills alongside their peers. Hypothes.is is an open-source, standards-based collaborative annotation software tool for active, close reading and in-text group discussions of your PDFs or web articles. It promotes active reading and makes visible what a close reading of a text should look like. This is easy to implement right now, and this quick session will show you how. We’ll have a 20 minute overview, and a 10 minute Q & A. You’ll come away with a Google doc handout and everything you and your students need to get started today.

User Activity

Outstanding. Bethany Winslow was, as always, very clear and concise, showing us exactly what we needed to master this tool. Hypothes.is looks like a real game-changer and I'm impressed that she's been trying to get it for us for the last 2 year. I hope more faculty adopt it.
