   Born in Berkeley to a mother of mixed Peruvian/Chinese ancestry and a fa
 ther of Lithuanian/Jewish descent\, Gabriela explores her multicultural he
 ritage through her compositions. Her music often reflects not only her own
  personal experience as a multi-racial Latina\, but also refract her studi
 es of Latin American cultures\, incorporating poetry\, mythology\, and nat
 ive musical styles into a western classical framework that is uniquely her
  own.  Featuring the SJSU Symphony Orchestra and faculty performers from t
