About this Event
1065 The Alameda, San Jose, CA 95126
#h&aInActionJoin us March 12, 2022 3-6 PM at The School of Visual Philosophy on the Alameda in creative spaces for kids, teens and adults of all ages who are interested in safely gathering for an event full of communal art making to celebrate our beautiful city of San José. The Second Saturday Alameda Stroll is a fun community event that helps to promote our businesses along The Alameda while also enjoying wines and beers from various local vintners and breweries and music performances.
San José State University’s College of Humanities will host a variety of workshops run by local artists, poets, students, and faculty from SJSU working in the arts. Create visual art pieces through photography and printmaking, or share your experience about living in San José through writing.
All participants will have the opportunity to submit their creations to the San Jose Story Map with help of student assistants via our submission booth. The San Jose Story Map is a digital map that showcases community contributions illuminating the rich histories and vibrant cultures found in our beloved City of San José and beyond.

Dialects of Art with Mighty Mike McGee. This free lecture is brought to you by the School of Visual Philosophy and the City of San Jose as part of the Creative Ambassador project of artist Dana Harris Seeger. More information here.
Postcards from Here & Now with poet Sally Ashton & artist Emilio Banuelos will focus on community outreach and creative expression through the creation of actual postcards.

Submit to the San José Story Map
These activities are designed to get the San Jose Public excited and inspired to participate by sharing their story and putting their unique experience ‘on the map.’ We encourage everyone to help us map our community through personal stories, testimonials, and images. For submission details visit: https://www.sjpl.org/storymap (submission deadline extended through March 15).
