We aim to build a community of scholarly practice and research productivity focused on leveraging emerging technologies to achieve health equity.

Objectives:

  • 1. Familiarize SJSU scholars with critical concepts and issues at the intersection of health equity and technological development.
  • 2. Facilitate opportunities for scholars across disciplines to convene.
  • 3. Enable ideation of possible research projects and transdisciplinary collaboration.

 

Dr. Emre Sezgin will guide a discussion of his recent article, Behavioral Health, and Generative AI: A Perspective on Future of Therapies and Patient Care, which was recently published in Nature Portfolio Journal (NPJ): Mental Health Research.  
 
Emre Sezgin, Ph.D., is an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at the Ohio State University College of Medicine and Principal Investigator for Biobehavioral Health at Nationwide Children’s Hospital. Dr. Sezgin is a digital health scientist specializing in patient-generated health data, conversational AI, and AI-driven health informatics. He leads federally funded research focusing on improving the utility of mobile health, virtual assistants, and equitable digital health tools.
