Please join us for a book launch party to celebrate Latinx Comics Studies: Critical and Creative Crossings! The book's co-editors Dr. Maite Urcaregui, Assistant Professor in the Department of English & Comparative Literature at SJSU, and Dr. Fernanda Díaz-Basteris, Assistant Professor of Latinx new media and ethnic studies at The Ohoio State Univeristy, will be discussingthe collection with some of its California contributors: Dr. Nicole Ann Amato, Assistant Professor of English language arts (ELA) and literacy education at CSU Channel Islands; Breena Nuñez, MFA, cartoonist and part-time adjunct professor at California College of the Arts; and Dr. Katlin Marisol Sweeney-Romero, Assistant Professorof cinema and digital media at UC Davis. This hybrid event will take place Friday, May 2, 1:30-3 p.m. PST in-person in the Steinbeck Center (MLK Library room 509) and on Zoom.
