Join us at Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Library Rm 213 from 5-6pm for a short prose forms workshop, the first in the Long Story Short workshop series that explores the art of brevity across literature, theater, visual art, and film!

Led by Professor Brook McClurg, this workshop will equip participants with the skills to write their own short stories which might be featured in a short forms festival in April!

Want to learn more? Stop by our table on 7th Paseo Plaza between 12-2pm. We’ll be handing out postcards with a short writing prompt as an invitation to compose a haiku or six-word story to send home. This simple yet meaningful exchange transforms a traditional poetic form into a moment of connection, reflecting on themes of home, memory, and community.

Supported by the College of Humanities & the Arts’ Artistic Excellence Programming Grant.
