  and James Thompson Art Gallery is pleased to present the 2026 Pictorial A
 rts Faculty Exhibition\, featuring new work by Irene Carvajal\, Lexygius S
 anchez Calip\, Donald Feasel\, Carla Fisher Schwartz\, Erik Friedman\, Mar
 y Morse\, Raphael Noz\, and Shaun Odell.\n\nThis exhibition offers a snaps
 hot of the vibrant creative practices of the Pictorial Arts faculty\, brin
 ging together artists whose work spans painting\, drawing\, printmaking\, 
 mixed media\, and interdisciplinary approaches. Although their artistic vo
 ices are distinct\, the works are united by a sustained engagement with im
 age-making\, material exploration\, and the evolving possibilities of cont
 emporary visual practice. The exhibition invites viewers to consider the m
 any ways artists investigate perception\, narrative\, abstraction\, and th
 e expressive potential of pictorial form.\n\nBeyond the classroom\, these 
 faculty members maintain active exhibition records and professional practi
 ces that contribute to the broader cultural landscape. Their work has been
  presented in regional\, national\, and international exhibitions and is r
 epresented in museum\, corporate\, and private collections. Collectively\,
  they have earned grants\, fellowships\, residencies\, and numerous honors
  that reflect the depth and impact of their artistic contributions.\n\nThe
  exhibition celebrates not only individual achievement but also the exchan
 ge of ideas that enriches the Pictorial Arts program. Through their ongoin
 g studio practices and commitment to teaching\, these artists create a dyn
 amic environment where creative research and education continually inform 
 one another.\n\nThe public is invited to join the exhibiting artists for a
  gallery walk-through on Tuesday\, August 25\, 2026\, from 5:00–6:00 p.m
 .\, during which they will discuss the ideas\, processes\, and inspiration
 s behind their work. An opening reception will follow from 6:00–7:30 p.m
