You are warmly invited to join us in celebrating Nowruz, the Persian New Year, a festival that marks the arrival of spring and symbolizes renewal, hope, and new beginnings.

Nowruz is celebrated by over 300 million people across the Middle East, Central Asia, South Asia, and the Balkans. Key countries celebrating it as a major holiday include Iran, Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Turkey, Iraq (Kurdistan), India, Pakistan, Albania, and recently, Syria.

At a time like this, when many in Iran face profound challenges and continue to fight for basic human rights and freedom, coming together to honor Nowruz is a powerful and meaningful way to keep this culture alive and affirm resilience, connection, and hope.

Please join us on Thursday, March 19, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m.  for an afternoon of community, culture, and celebration.

All are welcome, and we hope to see you there.

This event is lovingly coordinated by our Persian staff and faculty volunteers. Special thanks to Nima Abrishamkar (Applied Data Science) for organizing this celebration!
