Informed by an early career as a filmmaker, Alexandra brings a cinematic eye to each project. The work is distinguished by its ability to conjure worlds that cast the spirit of the client in an imaginative and flattering reflection.

With a Master of Architecture and a 20-year practice devoted to interior design and decoration, Alexandra has built homes and collections of historical furniture & decorative art for clients in France, China and throughout the U.S. For SFMoMA, she was invited to design and co-organize “Conversation Pieces,” an exhibition of contemporary furniture that opened in 2022 to critical praise and wide popularity.

The studio is committed to crafting work of extraordinary beauty within a framework of restraint: refined yet earthy, efficient yet layered, humble yet transcendent. And with an abiding love for novel color palettes & striking artifacts.

The work has been featured internationally, including Architectural Digest, Vogue, Elle Decor, Galerie and The Wall Street Journal.

This lecture shares several of the studio's interior design projects from conception thru completion while exploring its maxim, Form Follows Fantasy. We travel from 19thc Vienna to the resistance of contemporary algorithms to explore how we design to connect favored legacies of history with the present.
