The Evolving Library speaker series invites information experts to discuss the role of libraries in addressing emerging technology’s opportunities and potential harms. How do libraries and librarians contribute to ensuring an informed citizenry as new technology emerges?

Join us on June 25th, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. in King Library 225 or on Zoom for an exciting panel of authors and information experts. The panel will be moderated by Sandra Hirsh, Associate Dean of Academics in the College of Professional and Global Education at SJSU and the editor of her new book Library 2035: Imagining the Next Generation of Libraries. This Evolving Library gathering invites you to learn and help shape ideas for the future.

Panel speakers include:

Erin Berman, Equitable Libraries Division Director of Alameda County Library and co-editor of the next edition of the ALA’s Intellectual Freedom Manual

Christina Mune, Associate Dean Innovation and Resource Management at the SJSU King Library and thought leader of the collaborative Digital Humanities Center

Patty Wong, City Librarian, Santa Clara City Library and ALA President (2021-2022)

Don’t miss this opportunity to meet these leading library advocates, enjoy a beverage and light appetizer, and share ideas with like-minded friends and colleagues.
