Join us on Thursday, February 20th at 6:30pm in the DHC for an impactful conversation as we celebrate the powerful legacy of Black educators in the United States. This EmpowerED event features a dynamic Q&A with Black teachers who are shaping the future while also honoring the past.

Through personal stories, historical reflections, and discussions on the challenges and triumphs of Black educators, we’ll explore the lasting impact of Black teachers in shaping generations of students and communities. Whether you're an educator, student, or community member, this is a unique opportunity to learn, engage, and uplift the voices of those dedicated to education and advocacy.

Come with your questions and leave with a deeper appreciation for the critical role Black educators have played—and continue to play—in American history.

  • Ashley Martin - Elementary Educator, Mentor, and SJSU Alumni
