Viva CalleSJ is a free program that temporarily closes miles of San José streets to bring communities together to walk, bike, skate, play, and explore the city like never before. For this November 7, 2021 version, we'll begin in Willow Glen (just 3 miles from SJSU campus) with the route going through 6 miles of open streets. Enter through any of the side streets to join thousands as they wander through activity hubs, watch live art being created, see demonstrations of BMX specialists, purchase food from local food trucks, stop at a bike maintenance tent, grab water from one of the many water stations, hang out to watch a band or two, or play a few games.

See the route here and plan to bring your bike, skateboard, scooter, and other non-motorized recreational wheels to experience all-day fun!

SJSU College of Humanities & the Arts will host a variety of activity stations where you can see poetry buskers, guerilla theatre, music quartets, live art, improv classes, and more—all by SJSU students and student clubs.

Listen to @SJSUMusic 11am-3pm for the Sax Quartet and Woodwind Quintet at the Willow Glen activity hub.

Catch @sjsu_english Poets & Writers Coalition busking on a manual typewriter in the Parque de los Pobladores activity hub - give them a theme or word and get a poem in exchange

Sling some paint with the @SJSUArt Mural Club at Kelly Park

Keep track of updates on VivaCalleSJ Instagram
