#sjsumusicJoin the SJSU Wind Ensemble and Symphonic Band, led by Dr. David Vickerman and Dr. Grant Knox, for a reflective and inspiring program that explores music’s power to stir the soul. From the tender beauty of Strauss’s Allerseelen and the serene Be Thou My Vision to the triumphant Fanfare and Flourishes and Hanson’s luminous Chorale and Alleluia, the evening journeys through contrasting soundscapes of peace and grandeur. Mahler’s Um Mitternacht offers deep introspection, setting the stage for the evening’s centerpiece—David Maslanka’s monumental Give Us This Day. At once meditative and exultant, Maslanka’s work invites listeners into a shared space of contemplation, hope, and renewal.
