The Interdisciplinary Science Building (ISB) houses several departments and programs of the College of Science including the industry-leading Wildfire Interdiscplinary Research Center. Completed in 2023, the eight-story ISB is SJSU's newest academic building in 30 years and provides a state-of-the-art mix of biology and chemistry teaching and research laboratories; high-performance computing for astronomers, physicists and social scientists; virtual and augmented reality spaces; co-working and collaboration areas; and conventional classrooms and faculty offices. The ISB was designed and built with sustainability in mind, achieving in 2024 LEED Silver recognition through the use of efficient lighting, heating and cooling systems, and recycled water systems.

The ISB is a separate building entirely from the Science Building (SCI) located next to the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Library.
